To hold something so close that you end up constricting it, binding it to a framework that stops it from changing out of fear of the unknown. The rhythm of control and constriction can be found from the macro and micro of this work. From the soft yet binding red felt band, to the piercing brass tension rods, and all the way to the meticulous knots and threads that tighten the longer it’s hung. Even the precise and perfect ring that acts both as a support system and a cage echos the controlling nature over the green-wood spheres desire to crack and deform over time.
