Reupholstered Wingback Chair

Fall 2018 • UNCSA

Taken from a cross hatched salmon colored thrift store find to a revitalized modern grey tweed fireplace companion this recreation classical wingback chair was a upholstery project done for a class in my third year at UNCSA. Starting by stripping the chair of its old fabric, foam, and batting down to its bare bones. Then, build back up with new foam, battings, muslin, and finish fabric. Some choices, like removing the piping and hand sewing panels to create elegant seam-lines, were done to create a more modern look and to match the style of fabric to the design.
